Since the establishment of the company we try to reduce the use of plastic and disposable packaging to an absolute minimum. We do not wrap the individual vegetables in foil, we put them in the box directly when possible.

In 2019 we stopped using plastic boxes for cherry tomatoes and mushrooms. Some products, such as sauces, pastes, purees and condiments that will be mixed together in a recipe are delivered to you in a single package.

Unfortunately our service cannot exist without the disposable packaging and the question of how to remove it has bothered us for a long time.

INSTEAD OF TRYING TO TAKE AWAY THE CONVENIENCE OFFERED BY DISPOSABLE PACKAGING, WE DECIDED TO REPLACE THE DISPOSABLE PACKAGING WITH A COMPOSTING EQUIVALENT. NO ONE LOSES ANYTHING, AND WE KEEP THE NATURE CLEAN.

What does it mean?

Most of the plastic packaging in your Cookit box has been replaced with compostable material. After you use and them, you can throw them directly in the trash and they will decompose within three months.

How is that possible?

The packaging we already use is made entirely of corn bioplastic. Thrown in the trash, they decompose completely in a period of 8-12 weeks.

The components of the box that we cannot replace at the moment are the gel cooler, the thermo bag and the bottles for liquids. Therefore we started delivering without a thermal bag when the delivery is to Sofia (we use thermal boxes in our delivery vehicles). Thermal bags will be used only when the delivery is to an office and the box cannot be stored in the refrigerator for a long time.

WE INVITE ALL OUR CURRENT AND FUTURE CLIENTS: AFTER YOU COOK YOUR RECIPE, SAVE THE THERMOPLES AND GEL COOLER AND RETURN THEM TO US. GIVE UP THE THERMOPLESIC IF THE DELIVERY IS TO YOUR HOME AND YOU CAN STORE THE BOX IN THE REFRIGERATOR OR COOK IT IMMEDIATELY. BE PART OF THE CHANGE.

If that sounds too engaging, keep them to yourself. They can be used for travel or picnics.

If you have any of the liquids (mostly olive oil, wine and soy sauce) at home, you can give up the small plastic bottles, and we shall send you the exact weight for your recipe.
